Dealing With Negativity

Well Heyyy There Dolls,

I would first of all like to say a huge sorry for taking so long to actually make a new post. Life and uni really got in the way of my blogging (places face in palms). But I'm back, vowing never to wander again xD

I hope I'm forgiven though? What was that? A Yes.. Yayyyyy.

So here I am sitting in Caffe Nero with a caramel hot chocolate and I've decided that in this moment combatting negativity is exactly what you guys need to hear above all.

Negativity can come in the form of people, thoughts, settings and situations. And let me tell you now, it has NO place in your life.
Scientific research actually shows that negative energy affects the brain. Just 30 minutes of arguing, moaning and fights etc. will damage neurons. Yes. Neurons, for all my scientific bloggers out there. So I guess that old saying 'complaining turns your brain into mush' actually has some factual basis.

Ever tried to do something productive after an explosive argument? Pretty impossible eh..
And even if you do manage to do something productive it won't be to the standard you know it could potentially be at. So why's that?

Because Negativity takes an emotional and physical toll on you.

Negative People:

- Take your time and energy
- Tend to be emotional leeches
- Essentially want to bring you down with them (so you can both moan for the rest of your lives ;/) *sigh*

So how do you deal with them?

Some tips...

1.  Detach yourself from the situation
Don't comment, just listen. The reaction you give is what emotional leeches crave.

2.  Try forcing them to tell you something positive

After their little rant is over ask them to tell you something good about their life. Deflecting from their worries is a good thing for both of you, trust me!

3. Focus on YOUR positive energy

Energy is contagious, radiate a spirit that screams happiness! Think about things that make you laugh and include that in your conversations.

"When I am happy, the whole World seems happy, but when I am sad, sadness is all I see"

Your spirit can empower a  change in mood. Uplift your conversations with a peacefulness that is a force to be reckoned with.

4.  Take Responsibility For Your Role

"When you think everything is someones else's fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, you will learn both peace and joy"

If something or someone is making you unhappy then there's only one person keeping you there, no? Every situation is different and complex but as individuals we have the power to control our own lives!

There are so many negative things that unfortunately pollute our auras, make sure that the people around you are not one of them and that the only thing they do for you is lift your spirits.

Thanks for reading and keep your eyes peeled for more

:)

Denver            -Xo.
